Human Patient Simulation
Cutting Edge Technology for Nursing Education
The
Human Patient Simulator (HPS) is a Six-Foot-life-size simulator representing a physiological and mathematical model which integrates the cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological and pharmacological responses to interventions, or lack thereof for designated clinical scenarios and/or other patient health related conditions. The computerized patient database allows students an opportunity to note how different patient conditions will respond to interventions and physiological changes that the instructor can program to inable students to practice appropriate clinical care procedures and treatments. These clinical simulation practice sessions provide students additional opportunities to apply theoretical concepts into clinical practice.

The implementation of the Human Patient Simulator has been made to enhance the clinical experience for our students and the faculty is thoroughly committed to integrate the use of this technology throughout the Nursing Curriculum at Cochran School of Nursing.
