The Standardized Testing Program

Preadmission testing
All applicants take the TEAS- Test of Essential Academic Skill- from the Assessment Technologies Institute Program (ATI) during the application period. The TEAS is used to predict how well you will be able to continue through the program at the Cochran School of Nursing.
“It’s just the beginning, but how you begin can help predict how you will continue…Everyone always says to start your day with a good breakfast. Well, think of the tools ATI provides you as you enter nursing school as the “breakfast” you need to start your nursing career on the right foot!
You’ll begin your ATI “partnership” with the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS®), a test of your academic preparedness – and we’ll help you get ready for it. ATI offers a TEAS® Study Manual and an Online Practice Assessment.” http://www.atitesting.com/global/students/entering-nursing-school.aspx
Continued Proficiency Testing

Cochran School of Nursing subscribes to the Assessment Technologies Institute Program (ATI) for testing all and preparing students to achieve proficiency in each course as they move through the curriculum, using ATI’s  Content Mastery Series.®

“ATI’s series of learning tools will fast become your “rock” – the solid foundation on which you base your nursing program review. You will receive a set of review books – we call them review modules – prepared as a supplement to your curriculum whether you are in an RN or a PN program. Each book is an NCLEX® course review – medical-surgical, pharmacology, maternal newborn, and so on.” (http://www.atitesting.com/global/students/content-mastery.aspx)

This program will help you effectively prepare students for the NCLEX licensing exam through rigorous individualized testing and tutoring programs throughout their course of study, with the aim of having you successful on your NCLEX exam.
